Yeun Deng has introduced renowned Italian brand iMR’s gravity casting equipment, integrating Japanese FANUC robotic arms and a locally developed automatic control system for automated casting. This transformation shifts what was previously a labor-intensive process into a smart, automated manufacturing system, significantly increasing production capacity.
For the molds, which are crucial in determining the quality of copper cast products, Yeun Deng uses internally optimized mold runner designs along with resin sand cores printed in-house. This not only greatly improves raw material utilization but also enhances product yield and production capacity to international standards.
Smart Manufacturing
In response to the growing demand for small-batch and customized orders from clients, Yeun Deng has not only implemented a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to improve production scheduling accuracy and enhance capacity but also applied IoT (Internet of Things) technology to collect and transmit machine parameters and data. This includes critical factors that significantly impact product quality and production efficiency, such as core machine heating and cooling times, electric furnace temperatures and mold temperatures.
Yeun Deng employs big data analysis to make adjustments and improvements in various areas, including product design, mold development, production scheduling, process planning and equipment maintenance. These data-driven adjustments directly influence product quality and production efficiency, ensuring the company can fully meet customer requirements for both quality and delivery timelines.
Low-Carbon Manufacturing
In 2023, Yeun Deng completed its first greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and external verification, gaining a thorough understanding of the primary sources of carbon emissions, which are electricity consumption and copper ingots. These measures help reduce electricity and energy consumption, as well as minimize raw material procurement.
Yeun Deng has purchased new machines with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and installed an electrical monitoring system to optimize energy usage and reduce electricity consumption. Additionally, the company has leased its factory roof for the installation of solar panels to generate renewable energy. 20% of the generated power is used for in-house consumption, contributing to carbon reduction by sourcing green electricity.

Specific practices include introducing robotic arms for production, designing multi-cavity molds, improving bottleneck processes, establishing standard working hours, increasing the proportion of multi-skilled workers, adopting a production order-based system and enhancing equipment utilization rates. These measures are aimed at reducing environmental harm and promoting sustainability. Yeun Deng achieved ISO 14001 environmental management system certification in 2022 and completed its first carbon inventory report and external verification in 2023.
